Squiggle once again proved that the Armahani Diamonds are a force to be reckoned with, walking in her brother Tahvo's paw prints by coming away with a quallie in the junior courser class, a first for a Lappie in Australia (though that is only because the sport is so new). Squiggle loves running and more than one person commented on her style today - she pulls to get into the course, barking as loudly as she can, then practically screams to be let go while she watches the lure driver get the lure into position. The funniest part though is listening to her let out lots of excited, high pitched barks as she chases the lure around the course, with the huntmaster commenting today that she sounds like a squeaky toy! She LOVES it!
Soaks unfortunately did not qualify but got much further along the course than I thought she would in the morning run! She isn't as naturally driven to chase as Squiggle is so it has always been a bit of a surprise to me that she will lure course at all, even if today, she decided to come running in for a lovely recall before the end. She had a great time, and quallie or not, I'm very proud of what she achieved today.
We can't wait for our next lure coursing day!
