Squiggle, who is still a novice, managed to find her rhythm again today and not only ran clean in every race but also managed to show everyone her beautiful swimmers turn. The turn is not only the safest way for a flyball dog to turn, softening the blow of jumping onto the box and preventing injury to the dog in the process, but is also the fastest, cleanest way to turn, setting them up to return to the handler over the jumps. Zero was always too big and not agile enough to be able to complete a swimmers turn so I'm especially proud of Squiggle's because we worked very hard to get her there.
Both girls had a 100% strike rate of clean runs yesterday and had a ball! We walked away with some treats, a couple of mugs, a couple of raffle prizes (new treat pouch! Score!) and 2nd place in our division. We'll be back out next week at Boorowa, and after today, we can't wait!
