It was a novelty to have Squiggle and Ahsoka in different classes as up until now, they have both been in junior courser, but as Squiggle recieved her JC qualification at the last trial, she is now up in CAT Stream, competing with the big kids!
I am very happy that both girls under judges S. Mueller (QLD) & J. Lewington (SA) walked away with quallies - Soaks with a score of 157.5/200 and 3rd place in the non-sighthound junior courser class and Squiggle with 171.5/200 points and 3rd place in CAT Stream. This means that at her next meet, Soaks will be up with the big kids too in CAT Stream!
On top of the fun in the ring, we also had the first official meeting of the NSW Lure Coursing Association today! Though it was never my intention to put my hand up to sit on yet another committee (I think I actually said "this is one committee I won't be sitting on" to a friend as we walked in), I walked out of the meeting as a general committee member for the club. I'm really happy that the committee has both sighthound and non-sighthound owning members sitting on it and I hope the sport is really successful in NSW. This might have been the last lure coursing trial in NSW for 2015 but we will definitely be back in 2016!
