Earlier this year, Soaks and I attended the annual Tracking Club of Victoria workshop, which was extremely helpful particularly for my handling skills and learning about how trials are run. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in getting into the sport in Victoria (or even interstate if you don't mind the travel!)
With not many tracking trials left for the year and with a trial so close to home, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to test our training so far. I knew Soaks was doing well in training, but you never quite now how they'll go in a trial environment. It was scary for me, too - it has been a while since I trialled in a new sport! I shouldn't have worried though, as Soaks came away with her Track One pass and nailed her article indications with a solid drop (including on the start article)! She enjoyed herself and decided to perfume herself with fresh sheep poop! I was very thankful the drive home was a short one... She stunk! Hopefully we can continue our tracking journey next year!
